I am just curious what you may have done to potty train your kids.... What realy works?
My son will be three in March and has gone on the potty many times, but won't commit to it every time. :) Also, at what point do you move your child from a forward facing car seat to a booster? Just curious! :) Any comments would be helpful. --- Jen Johnson
When our kids were able to stay dry all night (just before they turned 3) we went straight to underwear and never used diapers or Pull ups again. We used a reward chart (totally over did it with #1) and talked about potty training a lot (there are a few good books). We had A LOT of laundry the first week but they quickly got the idea (we rarely had a wet bed). I have to admit that I'm not looking forward to it with #3. Tip: attach the training seat right to the toilet and let them use the big one.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty late on the car seat/booster seat switch. #1 started using a booster seat a year ago at age 5.
We always teach our boys to SIT DOWN until they are several years down the line and can understand how to not make a mess standing up. It has worked really, really well. I would not do it any other way.
